Top Three Online Games
If you like your gaming with a side of wide-eyed excitement, then it’s safe to say you’re a thrillseeker of a gamer. What games this may bring into your collection will differ from person to person – some people love to shoot aliens, some people love to survive a haunted house for a night. People have different buttons to push, so we thought we’d dip into three genres that you might find intriguing as someone who wants to feel a rush when they’re enjoying a gaming session.
1) Horror
Horror games are without a doubt one of the best sources of thrills you can have while playing a videogame. There’s something chilling about your interactivity – being able to make the difference between someone getting away from a murderer and becoming yet another victim puts that choice in the hands of the player, and that’s a seriously big deal.
Imagine if every Saw film you, well, saw, was an interactive experience? With horror, sometimes the lack of control is exactly what makes the experience so terrifying. But with games, it’s on you, and rather than someone else being at the mercy of the horror world, it’s you, if the game is immersive enough. Thrilling stuff.
2) Games
There are few more dramatic moments in games outside of those we’d classify as sports or eSports.
eSports is changing and beginning to accommodate what online has done by default for a long time – because there’s a lot of appeal in that for those who enjoy watching them do what they do.
3) First Person Shooter
Ah, the first-person shooter. Does what it says on the tin, really – you shoot things from a first-person perspective. However, this makes it a very deep and immersive experience compared to third-person, as you’re actually inside the head of the one doing the shooting – technically you, given you’ve got the controller. It leads to a lot of tense moments, and also the thrill of charging into your enemies and laying waste like an action hero.
Add online multiplayer to the mix and you can really begin to see the appeal. There’s all the tension and speed and adrenaline of single-player, but this time, you’re not facing off against artificial intelligences – you’re going head-to-head with other human beings. That extra level of difficulty and the unpredictability of the human thought process relative to that of AI makes for a gaming session in which you’re frequently left sweaty-palmed.
